Ripped off by ebay

I didn't pay a seller's fee, accidently I might add, and ebay sent it to debt collectors. I paid them immediately but then ebay demanded a further fee to reinstate my account.

Do you know what the extra fee was for? 

At a guess it may well be the debt collectors fee for persuing the debt.

EBay doesn't put an unpaid account into the hands of debt colletors for a trivial amount, or until after more than one payment request has been made.

You may have paid now, but this still leaves eBay with the admin costs of putting your outstanding payment out for recovery, plus the cost of debt collectors.

Why shouldn't eBay claim their costs back before reinstating your account? If anyone has been ripped off, it's eBay.

These are issues that we have no control over, just being other members like yourself.

But if these are ebay's rules they don't give you a choice, it's a case of pay up or don't sell on ebay.

You could try and discuss it with an ebay representative but I wouldn't hold out much hope of you getting far.
