If you used a prepaid Label supplied through Ebay after you opened a case, then when you post at the post office they scan the tracking and it goes onto ebay.
I don't know why ebay did not update when posted! How was the return label supplied? Did you open a Case?
If not done through ebay you would have needed to add the tracking yourself to the return.
However the real thing is have you had a refund yet? If seller has received it then he should refund and any problems in the system do not really matter much. Bear in mind that Refunds go back to source and may take some time, BUT you can see against the item if the PAID £ symbol has changed to the Refunded Symbol which would indicate that a refund was on its way.
