Hi Guys.
I need some help.
A buyer recently bought a secondhand item I was selling. They got into a bidding war and ended up paying almost the full retail price of the item when brand new. They have obviously changed their minds about secondhand and decided to go with buying new (with associated warranties etc), and have asked me for a full return using the excuse that the item I supplied them was faulty.
The item was not faulty and all my sales are cleary listed as 'No Returns Accepted'.
Out of a sense of fair play I offered the buyer a conditional refund. The conditions were that they pay return postage and only receive the sale price that they paid (no postage additions). I know that Ebay expects sellers to pay postage on returns, but as my listing was 'no returns accepted' I think payment of postage by the buyer is fair in this case especially when the buyer has admitted buying new. The buyer has refused to agree to this and demanded a full refund and opened a complaint about me with Ebay
In response Ebay has frozen funds in my Paypal account pending resolution, The only resolution option they have available is full reimbursement to the buyer plus paying postage.
I have put an official complaint in to Ebay about the buyer but Ebay have failed to respond with any advice.
1)Where is the seller protection?
2)Why does Ebay ignore the 'No Returns' option when mediating disputes?
3)How do I get Ebay to unfreeze my Paypal funds?
Any advice would be helpfull.
Unfortunately as your buyer has opened an item not as described case they will win with eBay's backing.
No returns means nothing in such as case.
