Returns a faulty item and no return label (who pays and how do I claim this back).

Hi All.
I am in the process of returning an item as it was faulty on delivery. I have request a return and ebay as approved (no reply from the seller). There is no option to print a return label.
How do I get this or do I just go and post the item back and will ebay/the seller pay this cost.
sorry 1st return i have had to do.

It all depends upon whether you opened the correct case in the resolution centre.

As the item is faulty, you should have opened a money back guarantee case. If you did, eBay will give the seller the option of sending you a prepaid return label. If they don't, eBay will enforce the refund and you won't be required to return the item.

If you opened an ordinary return request (which is for change of mind returns) you will have to pay for the return postage yourself. If you have opened the wrong case, I'm afraid you're stuck with it - only one case can be opened.

The whole point about faulty items is that you don't REQUEST a return, Seller has to accept so you open a NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE. Seller has no choice, they  accept and send a reply paid label or you escalate to ebay who will deal with it and the seller gets penalised, with no refund of seller fee and a Defect.

If you asked to return it means you opened the wrong case and will have to pay return postage yourself. Change of mind returns, if a private seller, they do not have to accpt.

As said by @red_magpie  it all depends on what Case you opened and if the Seller Ships from the UK or not?

The seller will be told to generate you a prepaid label and has 3 working days to do so.

If they don't send one you escalate your case on day 4 for ebay to step in.

You bought from a Chinese Seller within the last month (something factory?)   If that is where you are Returning the Item to, you will have to organise your own Postage and add the Tracking Number into the Case. Ebay can only offer UK Postage Labels.
