Hi there,
I recently bought an item from a seller but it was not as described and after some discussion they agreed to refund me.
I received an email stating the seller had accepted the return and then I was prompted to print out a returns label to process it. However, I was away from home with work so I was not able to do this in a timely fashion. I received the email on April 12th asking me to print the label and later that same day I got an email stating I received the refund. I checked my bank account and the money was refunded. I had not even had a chance to use the link to print the label off.
I returned home only today but when I try and open the print label option, it simply goes to a page where it states 'The return is now completed' and there is no label to print.
I assume the seller jumped the gun and marked it as completed despite having not received the item yet, but I am unsure whether to trust this situation as the seller had previously asked me to do some dubious things regarding the refund prior to officially going through ebay, so I am not overly keen to return the item without some advice.
Do I need to go through ebay and ask for a returns label before sending it? Is that money safe in my account if I were to return the item by just posting it myself without any label? At present I do not even have a return address as there is no label available.
Many thanks,
Case closed when seller refunded you, they should have waited until you returned it.
Ebay won't make you return item now, but message seller & say happy to return item if they send postage label or money to cover postage cost, they won't be able to reissue label through case as it it closed.
