Returned Item

Hi all - sold an item on eBay, Royal Mail tried to deliver but couldn't so left card and held the item at sorting office for two weeks before returning it to me. Wrote to buyer asking for alternative delivery arrangement but no response. Should I simply refund the item, hold onto it or what? Thnx

Thanks to all who replied - appreciated!

If they have not replied then wait until they open a not received dispute

If you cancel without their agreement then they may decline any cancellation and you will be left with the fees

If you refund straight from paypal then you will pay the fees and a defect on your account

If they did not collect the first time there is every chance that they may do the same again

Contact them once more and ask them if they wish to cancel and then wait.

Message the buyer this has happened,  and that you are issuing them a cancellation request which will automatically refund their payment.

Then go right of the item sold,  and from More Actions select Cancel this Order,  and select the reason ....  problem with buyer's address.

If they wish to purchase again,  they can do,  buy and pay again,   as the item is then automatically relsited.
