Ok so I bought 20 lightbulbs. The seller was selling them in packs of 10. I bought 2 packs because I have 12 lights in my kitchen. I paid £11.07 per pack, paid in total £22.14.
When the bulbs turned up they didn't work so I initiated a return. After I submitted the return I noticed that for some reason it was ony for 10 bulbs i.e. one pack so I called eBay. They told me they would contact the seller.
I received my return label and sent all 20 bulbs back. I also contacted the seller to tell them what happened and they said if I sent back 20 bulbs I would be refunded for 20. But it would take "2-3 days".
Bulbs were delivered back to the seller. I waited and waited. Finally eBay conatcted me to ask if I had received a refund. No I said. so they "stepped in" closed the case and refunded me. £11.07 for 10 bulbs.
I phoned eBay and pointed out I had brought this to their attention before. They told me to wait and if the seller didn't refund the rest of the purchase price to ask them to step in. But I pointed out that they had closed the case. So they said just to call them if they seller doesn't refund the other half of the purchase price.
The seller is unresponsive. sent numerous eBay messages. Nothing. Can't inolve Paypal as the item is recorded as being refunded. Tried phoning the seller's premises just goes to voicemail. Just external email comes back blocked.
Where do I go from here? I've returned the product received half my money back, no-one seems to care.
The supposed "eBay Money Back Guarantee" isn't worth the paper it's written on because it seems it's perfectly legal to scam me of £11.07 and just tell me to walk away. eBay won't do anything.
I take it then that it's perfectly ok to scam a buyer like this and just walk away? I have recourse. I can't even leave any feeback to warn others.
It sounds like you needed to open 2 separate cases as they were 2 orders, but the difficulty is you've returned everything you'd need to return to get the other half of the refund..
I think you might need to ring CS again, at this time of day you're more likely to get Dublin.
