Return of seller fees for a lost item

I  would like to know if I can get my seller fees back for a lost item.  I have already lost over £10 by  ebay refunding the buyer and I can't seem to find any way to get help from an agent.  Very frustrating.

If the buyer opened a case for the item not being received and you didn't voluntarily refund before the buyer had the chance to escalate, you lose your fees.

Thank you for the information. That's disgusting - not only have I lost over £10 but also the seller fees and the annoying and suspicious thing is the buyer didn't contact me at all to ask about the item not arriving. Why does ebay always err on the side of the buyer? What's the evidence that they are telling the truth? I am rapidly losing faith with selling on ebay.
