Return P&P not paid

I bought a "solid silver cross" which turned out tobe silver plated copper, I re-ported this to the seller who insisted on me returning the item even though I had sent photoes to him/her. I asked if the y would pay P&P I had no answer, ebay agreed that I should return it and the seller would have top pay P&P. I returned the item, funny when I emailed the seller they said that they had refunded the purchase price, but not the P&P. Now I have tried to complain to ebay but I cannot as the case is closed, so there is no more help. The money is very little but the rubbish this seller is selling they should not even be on ebay, if they say it is silver and it is not surley this is fraud.

If you'd used the money back guarantee, opening a case for not as described, a UK seller woud have supplied you with a pre paid tracked return label

There's nothing that can be done now to recoup your return p&p I'm afraid

Why ever didn't you read the Money Back Guarantee and follow instructions.

You open a NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE, seller provides a Return Label and on return you get a full refund. Once you have paid the return postage there is no way to force the seller to repay the return postage.

The seller took advantage of your lack of reading the correct procedure and save himself some money,so reflect this in fb. The MBG is on every listing top right and all over the site including the paypal payment page.

If the seller is overseas [China] for example eBay has no way to enforce the return post.  Where an article is not as described the item has to be returned - photos will not do though a seller can simply refund.

If the seller did not provide a label to return then [after 8 days] you escalate the case to eBay.

Your comment:

"Ebay told the seller to send me a prepaid return label, the seller told them they could not print one off, so eBay told me to send it back and the seller would pay for it."

I am - I confess - uncertain if you actually opened a case to start with. If you did then the first bit is absolute rubbish!   The seller does not print the label it gets sent through the case for you to print and stick on the parcel.  EBay's comment is while technically correct if you substitute "might" for "would" is rather helpless.  It is pointless "talking" to eBay as sometimes they do not seem to understand the "detail" and "nuances" of what you are saying. The money back guarantee operates simply without you needing to contact the seller or eBay.
