Hi there,
I recently bought a scarf for £50. Postage was free and I checked the return policy carefully. All that was stated was the time frame and that the buyer pays return postage. I scrolled down to check the details and the same information was listed there.
When the scarf arrived it was a very different colour to what I had been expecting and so I returned it. When I checked my paypal account I had been refunded only £45. I contacted the seller who explained that it was their policy to charge £5 for returns, and that it was in the listing. I looked again and still couldn't find it so I contacted the seller again who sent a copy of the listing explaining that the £5 return fee was mentioned in a block of text at the bottom of the page.
So - my feeling is that this fee should have been mentioned under return details. There is no reason for it not to be and isn't it reasonable of me to expect to know what a seller's return policy is in full once I have read all the information listed under the return headings?
I can't help feeling that this is a deliberate ploy. What are other member's thoughts?
And if you agree with me how should I proceed? This is a matter of principle and I feel this seller should not continue with this practice for the sake of all their buyers.
Thanks in advance.

sellers are not allowed to charge return fees,
also if the item wasn't as described they should have paid the return postage costs as well.
did you use a tracked postage option to return the item?
if so you may still be in time to open a not as described case and put the tracking number in to get all your money refunded.
