I want to restrict the sale of high value items to ebay profiles with a rating of 11 or higher.
On listings where this is the case I include a line that states this, yet people with a zero rating can still purchase such items.
I cannot cancel citing the correct reason so what are my options?
EDIT: Thanks for the replies; it is as I suspected. Will remove these high value items and sell them privately due to the lack of seller support on ebay.
Not possible & potentially damaging to sales as a buyer with 4 positives may be a brilliant buyer....while one with 11+ could be the buyer from hell as buyers can only ever receive positive feedback
Much better to simply tighten the blocks available to you
That is not an option on ebay
You can restrict to bidders with non payment disputes and other things but not what you want to do.
Set your buyer requirements as tight as you can
https://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/buyer-requirements.html
You really need to sort out your listings
("Please note that due to the high value of this item I will cancel purchases by ebay accounts with positive rating of less than 11".)
You can not do that and if you start cancelling sales because they do not fit your own policies then you will not be on ebay long
As a seller you will be protected by the guarantees if the buyer does not pay. We all started at "0"!
You cannot - I'm afraid - make up your own rules. EBay runs this site and makes the rules for us to follow and not the other way round.
No matter what you put in the listings you cannot stop buyers purely based on their feedback 'score'.
On another matter you could be heading for problems listing a book as 'new' and then stating in the listing that it has - "has hardly been read".
that 'used' not 'new'.
that isn't possible,
the buyer requirements you can set are on this page:-
