Reporting counterfeit items

Hello eBay community, I have reported counterfeit items to eBay via the report item link on the product and also by calling customer service. Items have still not been removed after more than a week. The poor person who has subsequently bought the item probably has not been told either. The seller sent me a message clearly stating that the product is not genuine and that it is a one to one copy. They have this message in my inbox but done nothing. I have also reported a number of Chanel bags with the counterfeit date serial stamp 10218184. eBay still allowed the sale. I now think I should report this to the police or trading standards as eBay standards appear to be slipping. Please let me know your thoughts. Regards

Ebay often do not take one members report to end listings and sometimes even if they do it takes a long time.

It is also up to buyers to know what they are buying and if they are fake then the buyers are covered by the ebay money back guarantee.

If they are a business in the UK and selling many fake items then contact Citizens advice and they may pass on to Trading Standards.
