Refusing to accept return

Hi,

I received an item recently that was drop shipped, ordered from B&Q direct to my address. I therefore opened a return upon noticing B&Q was £19 cheaper, and shipped an identical item from B&Q to the return address. The seller is ironically refusing to accept this identical item and offer me a refund, meaning I have paid them for nothing.

Does anyone know where I stand? They are claiming because the 'barcode is different' they won't accept it but I know for a fact it's identical as mine arrived with the B&Q delivery note (and they'll have never seen the barcode as they never saw the item!)

Thank you in advance

That is not a reason for a return

You should have checked prices before buying

Some sellers are allowed to drop ship

If the seller is a business or has Returns accepted on their listings then you send a return request and they have to accept the item back

You pay the return postage

If they dont have Returns accepted then they can refuse and if you sent the request and it closed in their favour then there is nothing you can do

Did you return it before opening the dispute

If you did then open it now and put in the tracking or 16 digit code onto the dispute and escalate after 3 days to ebay

Ebay accept delivered or attempted delivery for a returned items but it  must be done through a dispute

The seller is not allowed to drop ship from B&Q, unless B&Q has a separate, trade only wholesale section (which I don't think is the case). Business sellers can use a trade wholesaler to fulfil deliveries, but using another retailer or online marketplace for deliveries is not permitted. Private sellers can't drop ship anyway, as buying to resell is a business activity and private sellers can only sell their own, unwanted possessions.

However, I think you're saying that you kept the item you originally received, and tried to return an identical but cheaper item that you bought from B&Q? If so, you have placed yourself 100% in the wrong as when you return an item you must return the actual item you received.

I'm sorry, but you have placed yourself so far outside the normal procedures for buying and returning items here that I find it impossible to suggest what to do.

sorry, but you have to return the item you received, you can't have another item sent to the seller,

the seller has every right to refuse
