Hi all.
I've just sold an item but realised it has been damaged. I've since refunded the buyer straight away to avoid disappointment and hassle, but the amount on the refund confirmation is different? I'm worried the buyer hasn't had a full refund.
I sold the item for £90, and charged them £9.45 postage.
The refund page states I've refunded the buyer £86.72?? I'm confused and worried that they haven't been fully refunded, or am I missing something here??
If you refunded correctly, you will get fees credited.
If you just did a refund, you still pay fees.
The difference you show are ebay's 12.8% fee + 30p (you never get 30p back).
The best way to do it would have been to issue a cancellation, using "Not in stock" Dis you do this? Your buyer would have been automatically refunded but you would have suffered an account defect and lost your selling fees.
If you did it any other way I don't know what has happened.
Thanks for your reply!
I've checked back on another link and it appears the buyer has been refunded the full amount, according to eBay.
As for any fees incurred/lost I guess I'll soon find out, as will probably be charged. Seems unfair but I guess eBay are getting greedier each time!
