It would help so much if you could explain exactly what happened when asking questions. We are left having to guess.
It sounds as though you opened a case on the grounds that the item was not as described? We don't know why you lost. Did the seller state in eBay messages that the adaptors would fit your pushchair? If so, did you tell eBay this? If so, you may be able to appeal the decision.
The irony is that you would probably have succeeded with an ordinary return request. If this was a UK business seller, they are required by law to accept returns for any reason. If they refused to honour their returns policy eBay would have treated the case as "not as described", and you would have won. You would just have had to pay the return postage.
Your options now are to:
1) appeal the decision, as above, if you have the evidence.
2) If you paid by PayPal, file a dispute under PayPal's 180 day buyer protection policy, see: https://www.paypal.com/uk/smarthelp/article/what-if-i-didn%27t-receive-my-item-or-it%27s-not-as-adve... Now that eBay and PayPal are separate they probably can't ee eBay messages. You may have to reproduce the correspondence with the seller to show that they said the adaptors would fit. You will also need to provide a postal tracking number to prove that they were returned.
3) If all else fails, and they are a UK business seller, you were entitled to return them for any reason. If the seller refuses to accept this, you can complain to trading standards.
You only get one chance on eBay.
So, if the eBay case is closed your only option is to open a case on PayPal if you paid that way, but please be aware that buyers always pay the return postage for PayPal cases, unless they sign up for the PayPal funded returns first.
