Good morning,
I had an issue with a mobile phone which resulted in me sending the item back for a refund. Unfortunately i had to ask ebay to step in and aid with the issue of said refund. This was on the 26th of January, it is now the 4th of February and the case is still under review. So much for 48 hours to reach a deciscion!
I contacted eBay through Twitter who informed me that as the item was high value (Over 500 Pounds) the case had to be reviewed by a specialist team. At no point have ebay been in touch with any updates. It is now some 9 days later and according to the ebay rep the case has been reviewed and found in my favour. She was however unable to tell me when my case would be closed and refund issued. I was told it should be within 48 hours but she couldn't be exact.
Is this the normal service i should expect if i continue using ebay? Is there anything i can do to get my money back sooner or do i just have to wait it out?
Thanks in advace.
Have you checked the resolution centre at the bottom of the page to make sure you do not have to take any action like escalating the dispute
I would contact ebay at the top of the page under Help and contact then scroll down to see the options for contact
It will be call me back or shat with me.
Have you checked by hovering over the £ sign on the item in your Purchase history to see it the refund has been made
It can take 7 days to show on a debit card and up to 30 days on a credit card statement
It is immediate into a paypal account
Have you checked there
You don't say whether you opend a Not As Described case and Seller supplied a Return Label.
It is quite correct that high value items do take longer but it is important that you have followed correct procedure. You will have to keep nagging ebay for te refund.
You do not say how you paid, as that affects how long a refund takes to go back to source. Paying through Paypal using a Credit Card can take 30 days, a Debit card 7 days.
