Refund given

I recently sold an item and it was delivered by Royal Mail. Delivery was not accepted by buyer and item returned to post office. As I had not put a return address on it item was destroyed by Royal Mail. Buyer now has gone to eBay for a refund and they have given it although I have tracking to show delivery was not accept. Is there anything I can do? I've lost my item and my money.

Did you add your Tracking Number into Dispatch. Then into the Item Not Received Case so EBay could check it?

I spoke to ebay on the phone and gave them the tracking number and she said not to worry they would look into it. Today I got a message saying I had to refund her. I called royal mail and they confirmed she had refused to accept delivery.

Ebay tells you what they think you want to hear, you really need to appeal as I said in my earlier post, and add the all-important tracking. If you didn't add it to the case originally that is the reason you lost it.

Yes I will try. I gave ebay the tracking number and they could see that delivery had been refused. I wasn't asked anything else just told to they had refunded her money.

If you had put return address on, at least you would have got item back.

Yes, I won’t make that mistake again but to be honest I have never had an issue with a buyer. Not sure I will bother with eBay any more.

You should appeal the decision on the grounds that the buyer refused delivery and has therefore relinquished their right to a refund. 

Go to Ebay Help at top of page and search 'appealling a dispute' and make sure you show them your proof of delivery, ie: The fact delivery was refused.
