Problems with a buyer - ebay do not help

I have had problems with a buyer which have gone on for over two months.  The man wanted one of my items but while he was arguing about postage costs ( wanted item sent untracked and I only send using tracked postage as per ebay policies) the item sold to another buyer.

Then I began to get abusive messages via ebay message system.  I reported to ebay but was told unless it continued for over 30 days they would not step in to help.  It did continue for over 30 days and again I contact ebay and they say to block the bidder.  I did this.  He then starts to phone me - my number is displayed as I am a business seller and ebay obliges me to display my contact details. He phones me over 20 times to request that I unblock him so he can buy items from me.  I do not unblock him as I do not wish to trade with him.  Each time the phone calls get more abusive.  I report him to ebay again.   I then block his phone number.  I hope this is the end of it.  He continues to phone me from call boxes and private numbers.  I report to ebay again - they say they have no record of my previous complaints even though I have the Customer Service Transcript numbers.

He phones again tonght at about 9pm.

I contact ebay again.  The man I spoke to was sympathetic but said all he can do is record I have made a complaint - he suggests the police.

Should I contact the police? or will they just fob me off like ebay have done.

Hi there,

I think you should report this harrassment to the police. It seems the "buyer" has turned it into a campaign. People do get prosecuted for this sort of thing.

They shouldn't fob you off, its a genuine complaint  if nothing else they can advise you.  Have you got a list of times of phone calls, you will need to show how long its been going on for, number of calls etc. If you haven't already done so , I would start keeping some sort of call log from now on.

Can you block last number dialed on your phone system? If so you could block every phone he is using, sooner or later he'd run out of options.
