Postage is postage and packing, not just stamp cost.
Some sellers incur far greater costs in getting an item posted than others.
Sellers who use free post simply add the postage and packaging costs to the buy it now price.
Fees are paid on postal charges so there's no such thing as a postage excess, there's a total price that includes the postage element - if the combined amount represents value for the product, buy it. If it doesn't - don't.
Spending your days examing stamps on parcels only gives you half the picture.
