How I do contact ebay . I keep getting sent back to the same useless information. There seems to be no way I can register a complaint. No way I can actually message them. This service is appalling.

EBay doesn't have a complaints procedure. You can't message them or even phone them during the pandemic - support is limited to callback or live chat, see: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/contact_us?id=4814&st=10

Otherwise, you've come to eBay's board of community experts so why not explain what the problem is? Someone here will probably be able to help you, and a lot more quickly than eBay will.

I returned an item to the sender. They confirmed this and asked me to
contact eBay.
There seems to be no way of contacting them- just endless returns to the
same featured articles.
For some reason my purchase history doesn’t show anything so I can’t
contact them that way. I do feel a bit high and dry.!

I want to send them a message about an issue with my refund but there seems to be no method of actually messaging them or registering a complaint. There is no customer service - just message boards. Are they relying on members to do their work for them?

what issue? if you opened a case you should be able to ask ebay to step in through the resolution centre

For some reason there is nothing in my purchase history . The sender confirms the return but eBay have no record of it and cannot be contacted - except by purchase history.

did you use a different account? if you logged in using google or facebook you will have opened a new account
