Phone number verification

I'm trying to set up my first listing on the UK version of Ebay. I made sure to read through all the information when creating a listing to make sure I hadn't done anything wrong. I created the listing, added all the photos and the correct information ect. but when I was done and tried to get the listing to go live, there came the issue.

The site asked me to verify my details, the address was fine but it took issue with my phone number. I double and triple checked it was correct yet when I click either call me or text me, I always get the same error, "Looks like something is wrong. Make sure everything below is correct" so I went back to my account page and managed to successfuly verify my phone number there. It says that my phone number has been verified so I tried to create the listing again but to no avail.

Despite my own account page saying I have a verified phone number, Ebay still gives me that error. I tried doing it on another phone number and the US version of the website but still I get the same error. Is the site just down still from that internet blackout from a few days ago or is something else going on?
