Adding to the first reply, you need to check whether the seller is willing to allow courier collection. Many will refuse, as without proof of posting there's an easy scam by which the buyer can have the payment reversed and keep the item for nothing. So many sellers have been defrauded that this scam has even been reported in the national press.
Collection in person with payment in cash after inspection is safest for both parties.
