IF the seller did not have enough cleared funds in their Paypal account then the refund may have had to be taken from another source...eg. the sellers Bank account or credit card.
It may be that the refund was made by echeque in the above situation.
If i were you i would phone Paypal and ask them to clarify the situation and IF repayment is by echeque what is the expected clearance date. Echeques usually take about 7 to 10 days to clear.
