You don't need to contact ebay, the methods of payment allowed are on your listing,ebay are not going to change the rules.
Paying by bank transfer would be foolish for the buyer as they would have no buyer protection and it is not reversible. There have been cases recently where buyer has paid that way, seller does not mark as paid and still wants payment that ebay would recognise.
