Hi, a buyer has purchased two items from me. I spoted that they were wining the items and could possibly win both.
Before the item completed, I contacted them and offerred to combine postage if they won but for them to contact me before payment so that i could raise a revised invoice. They didn't follow my instruction, but I sent a revised invoice before they paid. I also have a clear instruction in my llisting for anyone who wants me to combine postage to conact me before payment is made.
They've now paid for the items separately, including postage on the individual items and have now asked me to refund some of the postage.
1. As they clearly ignored my requests and didn't read my posting or earlier mail, they've now caused me to incur additional e-bay charges on the postage "excess". Should I only refund the excess postage less the e-bay charges and expalain why I've only refunded part?
or
2. Refund the total amount they've paid for both items and ask them to pay on the revised invoice (with the postage reduction)?
3. Tell them, as they've ignored my requests and paid anyway (causing me problems), that it's too late now?
I gather that I will get a refund from Paypal of their fee for the refund but that E-bay won't refund any part fees. As these are low cost items, I don't think it right that I should absorb the costs for a buyers mistake.

Dont refund the amount of both items as you will occur defects on your account.
If you tell them its too late you are asking for problems
You can refund a partial amount through paypal on the original payment and as you already know paypal will refund fees
The extra postage is £3.75
You should be able to easily refund £2-3 and cover the fees or whatever you offered in the first place
It is up to you what you do but I would not want an unhappy buyer
Do not do No2 as it could get you account defects !!
The simple answer is......which option is most likely to get you the better feedback ??
