Oy! eBay! - New tabs opening when I click on them, how do you stop it???

OK - this is really annoying!  Whenever I click to to view items, the page keeps opening in new tabs instead of the sensible way. This clutters my system with extra cookies, temp-files etc.  So how can I stop it???
