Overseas mailing problem

Hi,

I've just sold a small item, for only 99p, to someone in the USA. EBay charged them £11 postage to send it by Royal Mail International Standard, which is fine, and they paid the full £11.99.

However, when I clicked on "Print postage label" and entered the weight and dimensions into the form (0.1kg, 23x16x5cm), it offered me only one option: via UPS, for £19.12!

Clearly, I'm not going to pay £7.13 of my own money, or ask the buyer to pay the extra. Also, I can't send the item independently by Royal Mail, as eBay has the buyer's £11 already. What's gone wrong here?

ebay doesn't have the buyers money, everything the buyer pays is paid to you, the seller, you then use that money to buy the postage,

you can either use ebays postage through packlink or you can purchase the postage direct from Royal Mail
