ODD SELLER BEHAVIOR

I Received an offer to buy an Item I was watching for £130 instead of £140 so I asked to look at it to compare it to my old part, he agreed so I drove 20miles each way and it was right I asked if he would accept £120 he said no he was loosing money so I said ok I will give you the £130 but he said no I pointed out he sent me the offer of £130 and he said not for that wheel I replied it was the only wheel I was watching and I could show him the offer he just said I am not selling and shut the door, has this happened before is it normal behaviour so that was 40 mile round trip for a strange experience.

Exchanging contact details is against policy when items haven't been paid for so as far as ebay is concerned you were going to do an 'off ebay' deal. You won't get any help from them.

You're lucky not to have been penalised by eBay. It is not allowed to ask for or provide any contact information until after the auction has ended, to prevent members making private, off-eBay deals to evade eBay's fees.

Inspection before bidding is no longer possible. The auction now has to be won, and then cancelled if the buyer no longer wants it after viewing. This isn't exactly ideal for buyers or sellers, but it suits eBay, and they make the rules.
