We are - of course - members like you here and not eBay. I am quite an old member of eBay [and old in age as well] but find little difficulty buying and selling on eBay even with the new system.
I'm afraid I do not follow the disquiet of ebay having my bank details to pay into and to take their fees by direct debit. All my utility bills are paid by direct debit and covered by the DD guarantee. We read that there are crooks on eBay [both buyers and sellers I'm led to believe] but I would imagine ebay has done due diligence and has taken legal advice as to its way of working.
