No email sent by ebay when 'best offer accepted'

The last two occasions I made a best offer that was accepted on ebay, I received no email confirming it.

The first time this happened, I had already bought the item elsewhere and only found out when the seller asked me to pay up, five days later.  I apologised and did, assuming I had not seen the mail (my bad).  But when I checked, I had not accidentally deleted it, it just had never been sent.

Of course on ebay - you cannot report an issue with ebay!  Anyone else had this problem?

it just appears in your purchased items when the seller accepts your offer
