Hi everyone. I am quite new to this selling. I just sell a few items now sbd again when I'm having a clear out of my children's clothes. I had a watch that I thought I would get rid off and listed it as used I took photos of the strap that was worn and sent them exactly what was in the picture. Buyer now stating it is fake and defective. He's left negative feedback before talking to me. What do I do. I'm a fair person but he's paid for a used watch and that's what he got. What am I missing? Any advice would be great.
Sellers have to reconcile themselves that buyers can invent any reason why an item isn't as described. It doesn't matter whether it's true, eBay still requires the seller to refund them. The seller has no say in the matter.
Just grit your teeth and politely explain to your buyer that you don't believe the watch is a fake, but if they're unhappy with it you will gladly refund them. Explain that the best way to do this is for them to open an item not as described case under eBay's money back guarantee, through the resolution centre. That way, eBay will process their refund and will enable you to send them a prepaid label to return it.
You will then need to respond to the case, accept the return and send them the label.
Once the buyer has been refunded you can only hope that they will have cooled down sufficiently to agree to revise their feedback. To do this, you will beed to send them a feedback revision request, see: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/leaving-feedback-buyers/disputing-feedback-received?id=4102#sectio...
