New payment system shambles

I have just experienced the new payments system, or should I say lack of payments.

Someone purchased an item from me at 8pm last night and paid immediately.

I was informed they had paid and told to despatch the item. I always despatch within 24 hours ofpayment received into my bank.

Only problem is I haven’t been paid, apparently its ‘ in the system’, I should receive it tomorrow into my account , let’s see, but there are stories of it taking days to arrive.

Therefore EBay must change the wording on the sales page from ‘ Paid, despatch the item’, to ‘ We have been paid and will when we like send the money to you so wait till you get it to despatch the item’

Are other people as miffed off with this shambolic change to the payments system?

If you have been paid then you post, waiting to see it arrive inyour bank will just get you late deliveries and bad feedback.

I doubt that there are any significant changes to the sold items page, but when an item sells there is a serial number which represents the number of items you have sold since starting.

Once paid it changes to an ebay generated number and you can click on that to get the buyers address.

If you can't trust ebay with your money for a day or so then Ebay is not for you.

I can't agree with your comments. After being in business for 50 years its only a sale when the payment is in my possession or bank, I dont trust anyone. I will contact all purchasers about delayed delivery and this has been caused by late payment caused by Ebay. The page that comes up saying paid is incorrect and needs to be changed because I as the seller have not been paid, Ebay have been paid. So you are incorrect in what you say. Ebay is an excellent service, but it has messed up big style with this new payment system.

The delay is also caused by your bank, it will take them 1 - 4 business days to process that payment. If you proceed with your idea of making the buyer wait this length of time you will be getting late delivery defects,   and negative feedbacks.   I'm sure many as you,   do not like this new system,   I'm definitely not it's Number One Fan,   but it's eBay's rules, my little voice will not make an iota of difference in complaining or standing fast to my ideals, because it is here to stay.
