NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BEING EXCLUDED OR CHANGED

eBay sees its online community as self-regulating.

eBay stated “In some situations, we may remove or adjust Feedback for transaction defects”

My Negative Feedback was intended to warn other potential buyers of the risk that this seller ignored significant elements of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Dubious eBay sellers can take comfort that my Negative Feedback was not published.

WARNING - NOT AS DESCRIBED - NOT OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY.

The shed was much shorter than the 6x4 advertised, the material used was a cheap flimsy plastic and the style did not reflect the image shown. I was told that in order to receive a refund of my £XXX purchase that I needed to arrange & pay for the non-refundable return.  After I paid this £XXX the seller claimed that they would have collected it FOC. eBay knows the issues with this Seller and does nothing to prevent these sales.

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD A VALID NEGATIVE FEEDBACK OF A SELLER EXCLUDED OR CHANGED ?

"eBay knows the issues with this Seller"

That comment will have been sufficient to get the feedback removed. EBay does not allow any mention of it's involvement.

I think eBay must be regretting allowing feedback comments to be so much longer. It isn't necessary, and the more buyers ramble on the more likely it is that they will say something that qualifies it for removal.

You would have done better to spend the time reading and using eBay's money back guarantee. EBay would have handled the whole process and the seller would have been responsible for the return cost.

The rules are - if a buyer who has purchased and paid via eBay check-out opens a not as described case the seller has to pay the return costs and any problem with that is dealt with by eBay once the buyer escalates the case to eBay.
