My sale of an antique penknife was not allowed

I have a very small gold penknife, it is 70 mm long (2.75 inches). weighs 14.6 grams and is about 120 years old. It has a fascinating history and is meant to be worn as a pendant around the neck. eBay will not let me sell this because the blades can be retracted ? and the only knifes they will allow on their website are the ones used for dining. The first time I tried to sell it on eBay it was removed from sale, I thought that this was strange because it is too small to be considered a weapon but after eBays refusal I checked on eBay and found several much bigger gold knives and pen knives but they were all classified as antiques.  I tried to sell it again on eBay stressing its age and its small size but I ended up being penalised, my account being frozen for 3 days etc. I think this is totally unfair for I am sure that with its history it should sell well and it would hardly be classified as a dangerous weapon, like a flick knife. I will try and find an auction site that specialises in these sorts of articles but eBay was my first preference.

You say others are listed, but did you look to see where?

It is only the UK where knives of any sort are not allowed, many other Countries USA for example there is no problem. If a buyer in the UK bought from the USA it could be confiscated at Customs.

Many of these things are picked up by Robots, I recently tried to list a badge for a Shooting and Rifle Club, couldn't get it accepted so just dropped the Rifle part of the title. I think it is unlikely that anyone will be shot by a badge, might be stabbed by the pin!!
