My account being restricted

Hi folks, so today my eBay account has been restricted, the reason being is that I am being linked to some random account I have never heard of , I go on to eBay live chat to get help and they tell me that I need to contact friends and family to find out who this random account is lol, how can I find out who this account is? The robot was semi aggressive in the tone and told me I need to retract( means retrace) who could have used my phone ? Considering my phone has been in my possession for a year with a lock on it and I work from home that might be hard to do because there is nobody .

sorry for the rant but it's so baffling as to why they can't just block this other persons acxount and let a good seller like me just get on with life

It is bad news when eBay associates your account with someone else's, because if they have been banned permanently so will you be.

Members are typically "associated" by eBay if they have the same address, or have logged in using the same connected device. There may be other associations that we are unaware of.

For eBay, the logic is clear: to prevent banned users just starting up again using a friend or family member's account. However, it's very hard on members who suddenly find themselves banned for no fault of their own. Unfortunately, there appears to be no meaningful appeal procedure and the user agreement entitles eBay to withdraw its services at any time and for any reason.

Is Ebay Policy. Any Member who is linked to a Blocked Account is also Banned unless they know who the Blocked Member is and can persuade them to sort out their Restricted Account to Ebay's satisfaction.
