My Mobile Phone was Damaged

Hi all I'm looking for advice, if anyone here can help me please.
I purchased a Leather Man Bag so I could carry all my items together, car keys wallet, and phone, it does have a compartment for a mobile phone, along with various other zips and pockets for storage.
Being disabled the item was handy and wanted one for a while, anyway it arrived safe and sound and was happy with the item, anyways my phone didn't fit in the phone slot on the bag but fit elsewhere in the bag and all my items I needed to carry around with me.
First time use I went out do get some items needed to last over Christmas
Got to my local Asda and proceeded to go get a trolley anyways the bag fell to the floor sending my phone shooting out of the bag I picked the bag up and my phone, the phone screen is smashed and looked over the bag the clasp had broken making the bag fall to the floor.
I got back home contacted the seller explaining what has happened sending him clear photos of the broken clasp and photos of my phone, he has just offered me a refund on the bag or a replacement but no mention of the phone damages, who is at fault for the broken phone screen? Regards any help here thank you in advance

Sorry but there is nothing you can do via ebay to get compensation for the damage to your phone.  If you want to take it further try money claim online:

You open ebay case for not as desdribed, seller provides returns label, you post back for full refund.

Escalate on day 3 if no label or refund.

Ebay won't help with phone damage, that is between you & seller.
