So, ebay will now charge 12.8% +30p and hold the money until it puts it directly into our bank account. Up to now we were paying ebay 10% and Paypal 2.9% +30p so we will save 0.1% which on most ebay sales will be trivial. Does this make any real difference for us? It means ebay gets its cut upfront instead of waiting to bill us monthly. Remains to be seen if it will all work as smoothly as things seem to do with paypal. And with Paypal you can actually message a real person quite easily - something ebay seems to make very difficult.
