Managed payments; why can’t I nominate PayPal as my ‘bank’

If buyer can choose how to pay under the new managed payment system, why can't sellers choose where their payment go, ie choose PayPal instead of their bank.  Also, if a buyer chooses to pay by PayPal, will that payment go into my PayPal account or my bank account?

For payouts under the new Managed Payments  you have to provide  either a current or a business account to eBay and no other variant,  to receive those  payments from sales.

Buyers can pay with Paypal funds,  that money will still go into your designated bank account.

Same as before,   you will never know how a buyer pays ,  with Paypal funds or with a chosen card payment.

Thank you for your reply. I think this is a restrictive practise. Why do buyers get a choice of payment methods, but sellers don't get a choice of where that payment goes?

When the buyer pays by paypal they pay to ebay not too you so the money does not go into your paypal account,

A poster has just said to open an account just for ebay which I think is good advice.

It is something I have always done.

I have one account which I only use for ebay and on my paypal account and buying anything online
