MY HERMES DELIVERED TO WRONG ADDRESS please help

I had to go away for a few days and put a big note on my doorbell saying

''PLEASE don't leave my parcel with ANYONE ELSE but take back to delivery office''

I get home today, and my label is still on the doorbell, and NO CARD.

I check my listing, and it said it was delivered, not by ''post office'' but by ''MY HERMES''

and to my utter horror, that is has been signed for by a total stranger, the whereabouts of which are completely unknown.

I was away from thursday 26th September at 11.am to Saturday 28th at 1.pm.

It said the parcel {china horse vintage beswick} was delivered and signed for on the 26th.

What on earth can I do????

I have told the seller but he hasn't yet got back to me.

As it has been ''signed'' for, I am completely unable to get my item or my money back.

Beyond upset by this as my note made my house look '';empty''...what more could I have done, and more importantly, what the heck can I do?????

Well that was certainly a quick Resolution by Ebay. Pleased to hear that you have your Money Back @oakleaffy. It looks like the Seller had Tracking to Click and Collect then not your Home Address?

Yes, Ruby, I wasn't expecting C&C, hence putting note on my door ...Just as well it was C&C....
Don't want to say too much, but ebay resolution centre {I phoned an 0800 number to get a ''collection code''...and it was that that flagged up the fraud.
I really hope they catch the fraudster, but what use is a china horse with a dodgy ear {and other stuff people buy} to them?

Maybe they hoped it was a more valuable item...or a mobile phone? who knows.

You left the note on the door that had nothing to do with your item

If you were to be away then perhaps you should not have bought to have it arrive while away

If the tracking shows Delivered then your problem is with the courier

You need to contact them and see where your item is

If you can not get it sorted out then contact Citizens advice for their help

Nothing to do with the seller if they posted it and it says Delivered

Ebay are on the case now....I had to go away as an emergency, as families sometimes have to.

It was sent as 'click and collect' not to my address, to a store a couple of miles away, and Hermes or the store may have ''lost'' it.

No collection code was given, nor did I choose C&C, it seems to be a 'glitch' in the system.

They were very helpful, and said they are phoning the store now.
As for going away, pray you never have to go away on the spur of the moment....have you never had to do that??

Yes it can happen you have to go away but there is no way I would put a big note on my door saying so.

Please do come back and let us know what ebay do.

Their policy is that if you do not collect within 7 days the item is disposed of and you lose the item and the money
if the seller can prove it was delivered to the shop

Click and collect Announcement 9 Oct ( you can read the whole announcement at the bottom of the page under Announcements
Your item will be held in-store for collection for a maximum of 7 days from when you receive your Collection Notification. If you fail to collect your item within 7 days, we’ll treat this as cancellation of your order.
The item may be returned to the seller or may be disposed of or donated to a charity with no liability to eBay and/or service providers.

eBay will notify you by email, My eBay messages and text message when your item is ready for collection ("Collection Notification").

The seller need only refund when they recieve the item back and if they dont then you may not get refunded
You are also covered by the paypal money back guarantee but if the item shows as Delivered the address that is on paypal (to the Collect shop) then you would lose on ebay or paypal

Okay...may not be able to mention what is happening, but it is good that Ebay are taking this seriously. { Fraud }

I received refund from ebay, and seller is keeping  money I sent them.

...it was fraudulent activity from courier. {can't say any more}

Sorry @oakleaffy but if the Seller has Tracking which shows Delivered. There is not much you can do. Contact Hermes, Ask Neighbours, Check your Garden.

You should have organised Delivery to someone you know who is at home most of the time. I would never go away anywhere if I was expecting a Hermes Delivery 🙂
