I went on to managed payments yesterday (under protest but what can you do?) I had some old foreign and sixpences that actually finished the weeks listing yesterday and when i went to relist them i was told that i am not allowed to as a private seller under the managed payments system. WHY? if i could sell them yesterday why not today (yes, i know it is in the new T&Cs but why is it? Anyone of you experts out there have a reason.
WHY?
None of us knows, but you can be sure of is that this change was made for eBay's benefit.
I'm sure it will be connected with the fact that payment is now made through eBay, not direct to the seller. I imagine that there's some drawback or risk associated with handling payments for these items, that eBay was happy for sellers to take but doesn't want to take itself.
The pattern seems to be that services, intangible, quasi-cash and slightly "dubious" items like e-cigs and alcohol are excluded. I can't see any obvious connection, but I would bet that eBay's lawyers have found some risk that eBay wishes to avoid.
So simple, why don't you read about Managed Payments and look at prohibited Items?
Why they are prohibited I have no idea, Ebay make the rules not members like us.
thank you for replying but if you actually read the question it is asking if anyone knows why it has changed, that i know that it is in the T&Cs. I just do not know why?
