Item was delivered to "click & collect" yesterday but can't collect until 4 days later"

This is weird, I selected click and collect and the item was delivered yesterday Tuesday 13 July, spoke to eBay help and they said "your order is being prepared in the store and not ready for collection. Expected to be ready for collection after Fri, 16 Jul 2021."

So if I had the item delivered to my house yesterday would there have been a "do not open until Friday sticker on it" You get me? what is the store doing to my item and why so long with a collection code? 

Really strange, it makes no sense what so ever....!??!

Store have to process parcel, once they enter it into system ebay send you a collection code,

you have 7 days to collect.

TBH, I would never use this system, too many people involved increasing risk of issues.

thanks, 96 hours for a small store, to process an item by scanning it into the system, were living in 2021 right? lol....

Gets better by a mile, just opened my email and I have a message from "click and collect" and they say that there was no code on the envelope so the store was unable to process this information, and they said that they see that "I've collected it" of course I haven't collected it as it's still in the store, they said that I haven't had the best experience so they have issued me a refund, how ever they've opened a dispute with the seller as "item not received" so the seller thinks that I've opened a dispute...omg...I just want my parcel which is in the store. they've gave me a code but it's not an FM code.....so what am I to do now?

Here, we go, just spoke to the shop and he says that he's waiting for it to be returned and he has the same ECP number and with out that he can't book it in which would then create my FM code I take it, asked where the parcel is, is it in the store, he says no, it's with the courier and it should be getting sent back to the seller, but then when I asked him where the parcel was he said he was waiting for it to be delivered......what is going on!!!!!

So if Ebay emailed the store and spoke to them the other day with the unique code why didn't they tell the store to just input the code into the system?

We have decided to issue you a courtesy refund for this case on 22 Jul 2021 to the original payment method you used to purchase this item. The refund includes the purchase price plus original postage. But have no idea where the parcel is, so if it's gone back to the seller I'll still have to BUY it again.....LOL

from ebay.....Hi XXXXX, Thanks for the response. I was concerned when I seen that no parcel had been booked in for you. I contacted the store again to confirm what is going on and they couldn't locate the controller. Sincere apologies on behalf of my colleague for the mix-up. The store mentioned that another customer by the name of XXXXX had collected a parcel earlier in the week and they assumed that this was you. So the store gave MY parcel which had no tracking on it to some one that walked in and said "I have a parcel, it's in the name of XXXXX and the store just presumed it was me and gave the parcel to this person? is this correct what I'm reading?

OK, so what has happened here is the following, The parcel was sent to me with out the code on the outside for the shop to scan it in. eBay called the shop after I contacted them twice asking where my code was for collection. The shop then told eBay that some one by the name of “#####” had been in and collected it earlier on in the week. How ever when it got to Friday and I got the email from eBay telling me this info I called the shop, which then advised that they gave it back to the courier. I queried this as how would the courier know where the parcel was to be returned too, and the guy in the shop said that “it should have had a return address on it” what makes it weird was I asked why they didn’t use the code that eBay had supplied to book it in and that would have generated the FM code. This was then repeated to my self as “Were waiting for the courier to redeliver it and then we can apply the code” makes absolutely no sense what so ever, but what the problem is, the shop is lying to me, eBay told me that some one with the same name as myself had collected this, when I first got through to the shop the actually asked me “did you come in the store earlier on in the week” Which I replied, no, this is when the bull started. So what has happened, someone with the same name went to the store, said I’m here to collect a parcel, the store has then asked the name, which they replied #####, and the store has just assumed that the parcel that they couldn’t book in was theirs, probably never checked ID and then handed my parcel over to the guy that was in the shop with the same name, then when the realised that they messed up, instead of putting there hands in the air and saying yes we did, they come up with a **bleep** and bull story about handing it back to the courier. Excellent! Just what you need when you put the trust in these people to handle your goods.
