Item marked sent if not sent

A seller contacted me to say my item will be later then original stated. But could he Mark it down as sent. Is this normal.

No it isn't.  Never happened to me in 18 years. You can use the Ebay Money Back Guarantee if the Item hasn't been delivered by one day after the last estimated delivery date.  You only have 30 days to use the Ebay Money Back Guarantee.
