Did you mean:

Is the below message I sent sarcastic.

I sold an item (aution) and sent the below mesage to the buyer less than 24 hours later

Hi my current plan is to go to a drop off point on Sunday so it would be helpful if I received payment before then, Thanks

I received a reply saying comment was sarcastic

I thought I was being polite. Do you think I was being sarcastic.

I received a reply saying there is no need for your sarcastic comment some people work long hours.

I was not asking for immediate payment and only sent the message becuase I was used to having other people pay quickly. I am also new to selling on Ebay.

some people would have read that as being sarcastic

you didn't even wait 24 hours before sending that message, not everyone can access the internet 24/7

I suggest you apologise, citing your 'newness' as the reason for jumping the gun

That's the problem with emails though, they can be misinterpreted so you have to be super polite, more than in speech.

Probably not best idea to ask buyers to pay or tell them when to pay.   If they don't pay just start an Unpaid Item case after 2 complete days.  If still no joy close after 4 days to end transaction and get your fee back.

Why tell us that it wasn't meant sarcastically? Explain this to your buyer.

Always to try to keep things friendy on eBay. Aggrieved buyers can find any reason to leave bad feedback.

Please see what @**peaseblossom** says.

The system is that when the sale is complete the buyer gets an automatic message telling him to pay from eBay.  If he does not then after 2 full days you can open a "non payer case" in the resolution centre [and "blame it on eBay" if you wish].  After 4 full days close the case and get your fees back
