Is scalping illegal??

Reselling a new item on Ebay for a profit is not illegal but remember when it was made illegal in the UK to sell concert tickets for inflated prices on Ebay, Why is re-selling newly released items for profit on Ebay illegal as it's still basically the same thing, Someone is ripping someone else off for the item (They may really wanted to get a PS5 for their child for birthday present, or they might want to buy their partner a new graphics card for their PC).

This seems to me that Ebay will not do anything about it and they should be able to add a list of "fixed" price objects as they clearly know which NEW items are being marked up by so much, This would at least stop the scalping of items on Ebay.

It's not hard to keep up to date on items that are being scalped, It feel's to me that Ebay is becoming nothing more than a virtual scammer's paradise.

Before someone says an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, This works but only applies to older less desirable items and with the current climate of how hard it is to get some items (Without using Bots and such to mass order and monopolise the market of said items).

Ebay please implement a system which checks for items "release"dates and then implement a fixed price for anything that is under 1 year from Release Date, This would at least make it harder for the scalpers to sell their goods and wouldnt be that hard to do.
