International Transaction Fee

I have just sold an item to a buyer in Switzerland.

Ebay have charged me an 'International Transaction Fee', a 'Standard Variable' Fee and a 'Standard Order' Fee.

I have not queried it with ebay yet however I wondered if anyone else feels the same as me in that surely the International Transaction Fee (ITF) should be paid by the buyer?

Is the ITF the same as our VAT?

the international transaction fee is a fee for processing a payment from a different currency, it has nothing to do with VAT and the buyer shouldn't pay it,
