I was highest bidder on an item that was at a location some 37 miles away. I contacted the seller to arrange for collection only to be told that the item was some 200 miles away and not in the location specified on the selling page. Google Search pages and maps only show the one area. It turns out there are at least two areas within the UK with the same name. There is no way I would have bid on this item had I known its true location.
I do agree with the seller that it requires personal collection because of its size, weight and fragility. However, I am physically not in a condition to travel this extra distance and even a journey of 30 mins causes personal discomfort that needs time to recouperate.
I have messaged the seller to make them aware of the problem and asked them to reject my bid.
Is there any advice that can be given please?
The sensible thing would be for you and the seller to agree a cancellation, see: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/cancelling-order/cancel-order?id=4004&st=12&pos=1&query=Cancel%20...
