Import Duties

Can anyone tell me how much I can expect to pay import duties from Hong Kong to the UK for a drone valuation around £500. Thank you.

You should also consider the cost of returning it to Hong Kong in the event of any problems, and the trouble of having to reclaim the Import Duty from Customs and Revenue.

Any Warranty given is worthless, and both Ebay and Paypal's Money Back Guarantee only covers condition on ARRIVAL, and faults after that are your problem.

Might be cheaper, but a lot more hassle if any problems, you can't just take it back as you can with a local shop.

You would need to check the actual duty rate on drones on the HMRC site but as a rough guide

VAT (payable on all goods valued over £15)........£100

Duty.....(payable on goods over£135)....£20 minimum

Courier fee....(for releasing goods from customs & transfer of fees to HMRC)....£10-£25

So work on a MINIMUM fee of £145

You need to check on HMRC Web Site..
