If a bid is made do i have to sell?

If someone bids on my item for sale (not property or motor) do I now have to sell ?

No one can make you complete a transaction but if you fail to do so, expect to receive a damaging defect on your account and negative feedback from the buyer. Too many defects will affect your selling activity. It does not take many defects to stop your selling activity completely.

Why do you ask? What has happened?

I can see that you sold a pair of speakers, having previously listed them at a higher price. Is that the listing you are asking about?

If you wanted a higher price for the speakers, you should have started the listing at that price.

Thank you for clarifying. No nothing to do with my items. I wasn't thinking clearly, I was wondering if I could advertise my items in the classifieds as well - I simply wanted to sell quickly to whoever offered first.

eBay expect sellers to honour transactions.

If they don't there can be problems and the account damaged.
