Idiotic Captcha

Can anyone tell me what the reason and the idea is for this repeated and annoying capcha exercise you haveto go through before I can log into Ebay?

Does this actually serve any purpose?

Not seen it but ... reported from members who are you still using the now outdated and unsupported Internet Explorer (replaced by Microsoft Edge) ... if so, try/add an eBay friendly browser eg. Edge,Chrome, Firefox.

I am using FF - although this is the pre Quantum as I really do not like the reduced functionality . So staying on FF 56. But this is still no reason to smother people with this stupid, repetitive capcha.

The use of an outdated version of Firefox could be the issue as eBay requires all the latest security upgrades to the system & it;'s add ons like Flash & Java........as these are security issues it could explain the captcha.......

There is another possibility.....are you using a VPN ?? Random IP's are not liked by eBay & trigger security responses
