How to inform eBay of separate sale of 1 out of 2 items

I don't know what you mean by "you have sold one out of two items" but you're doing your listings wrong.

You can't list one gas cylinder for sale, then use the listing to explain which cylinders have sold and what other cylinders you have for sale.

You need to list each cylinder separately, one listing for each cylinder. Unless you have more than one of the same cylinder, when you can use a multiple choice listing.

Thanks for contact but already listed 2 different cylinders and someone has bought one of them, so need to inform eBay that one is sold:paid for.

you didn't list them separately, you listed them on the same listing and you have sold one outside of ebay, there is no way to let ebay know that you have done this, and if they do find out they could stop you selling ever again!
